Learning about the bottle manufacturing process and understanding pontils and seams is the ticket. I will try to find a good site explaining those things!

This is a very informative site. Again, learn about pontils, or the lack there of, and learn about "reading" the seams on the side and the different styles of finishing the top and you will learn how to judge a bottle quickly. https://sha.org/bottle/

Bottles that use the word "cure" in the embossing or label it are generally between 1860-1906. I knew when they stopped using the word cure but I did not know when they started. The following article explains why I haven't found a "cure" bottle with a pontil. I will keep looking though! http://www.bottlebooks.com/Cure article/a_cure_for_what_ails_you.htm

The man who made that site has passed away but he was a WEALTH of info and you can learn a lot by exploring his site BTW.

I've just spent an hour on this site! it is exactly what i was looking for! I think one could spend a year reading the entire site! Sadly, the bottles i checked are all machine made and post 1920. Stil, i had a lot of fun!
