I got this at a garage sale over the weekend. Any ideas on the age of it? It also has a label on the top which says H. Davis. I think it was home made from some old crates. The legs are pegged in. The hard ware seems old but sturdy. The wood is definitely aged. front.jpeg nameplate.jpeg inside.jpeg legpegs.jpeg legs.jpeg back.jpeg

Somebody added spare legs to some kind of storage or shipping box. A "make-do" by a penny-pincher.

A thought about "age" - see whether you can get anything from the internet about the company whose information is printed on that one box panel. You may be able to see more in person than we can see on our computer screens.

H.W. Clark Biscuit Co. 1889-1930. Equal did the trick.

Thanks for this. I found several articles on the company. Once I clean this up and stabalize it, I hope to give it to one of my nephews. Knowing the history behind the crate makes it even cooler

Lots of Davises in that neck of the woods. All Welsh. Many of whom were farmers.
