    Welcome! :)
    There is a scruffy bookstore on the main drag in Chattanooga. There are literally TONS of yarn and lots of wheels are there as well. She sits and spins all day.
    I'm told the owner has her binding and not just a few pages loose. :(
    From what I observed recently this is true.
    However.....maybe you could get some things there. :)

    I doubt she is but maybe the store's online. The store is surely on Pinterest or some such.
    It is almost directly across from The MOON PIE store so find the name on Google maps Street View. :)

    With the fleur de lis stamps around the makers mark makes my wife think it's a Dutch slantie! And yes looking at the construction (especially the flyer hooks) seems to make sense it's an "oldie". If it has leather bearings it definitely is old - make sure to use a high grade thin sewing machine oil on them!!

    She is an Norwegian slanty. I saw a picture of another wheel just like her.

    I went to a friend's cottage this summer more than a 100 years old...the house had been a wheel manufactury in it's life, it still had the plans for the wheels drawn on the floor! I'll try to take a picture next time!
