Hi i wonder if anyone can give me any idea on this item. i have searched and searched and cannot find anything about it, weather thats a good thing or bad thing im not sure! is it antique? is it worthless? any help much appreciated! thanks..P.S hope i have done this right im a newbie to this..

Can't imagine what those square things that look like coasters are, other than maybe a practical addition for the games table.

 

Welcome,Yasmein! Appears to be a "combination" game set - cribbage, backgammon, chess, checkers, dominos, card games in general and possibly a few others.

Perhaps a give-away item related to the 50th anniversary of the hotel company represented on the sticker and the backs of the playing cards.

 

Looks to be a souvenir game kit issued by Nigeria Hotels Limited for their Golden Jubilee (50 years of being in business). The date of 1978 should tell you it is not antique.

I doubt it was much value over a standard kit of its type. There might be collectors of Nigerian items or hotel items that would pay a premium.

 

Is that square item in front center a stack of drinks coasters? Or something else?

 

Those coasters have got Windsor Castle on them.....!

Looks like a give a way gift for numerous games including coasters and Mah Jong. I would think this would be nice in a guest house or B and B. My shop might sell it for about $50.00 due to it's compactness.
