I already have the pink hat guy but this is in better shape, I've never seen the other one before. Both made in Japan.
    thanks Aaron!

Me either, but the Royal Navy sure needed a cat or two - keep the rats out of the hardtack!

Found this on another site, going begging. It's sterling with a copper or bronze Great Seal on it. The ring is really worn; someone beat the bejeebers out of it. Probably why I grabbed it. DSCF6222.JPG DSCF6223.JPG

    If that's a globe yes! :)
If not then Army Air Corps or Air Force.
    Being 'bronze' I'd say Marines.

I think it's Army or just generic, but someone wore the snot out of it. From the looks of things it was rhodium plated to start with, but the plating is worn plain off.

The side detail is so gone a clear shot may not help.

Coincidentally I got this metal Army tape measure yesterday. It's heavy and probably 100'.

I don't usually buy quilt tops but this yoyo was at a Sunday yard sale for $10. I like the ribbon as much as the quilt, it came with 2 pillow covers and an anti-macassar (I think that's the right word). Needs a couple simple repairs.

It is double sided, there is a different yoyo on the reverse of each one, I wonder if it's supposed to be a coverlet? I don't know enough about these things.

Ah, that might make sense. (not a quilter here.)

Thanks, that's a new term for me, I just read all about counterpanes.

Looks like. It was meant purely as decoration.

    Friday's finds:
A small Towle sterling oval tray with a very hard to see mark - and an old piece of discolored tape on the rim that made it look and feel like worn-through plated stuff. Yeah ... it is monogrammed ... but over 100 grams of sterling for under $5 ... I'll take it to add to the hoard :)
A couple of necklaces - one with swarovski-like beads and labradorite briolettes, the other with pearl, hematite, and labradorite strands ... both with sterling clasps. A pair of Latvian sterling and amber earrings, still with the tag (well, part of the tag) from the Latvian gift shop, and a small pair of what I thought were Lucy Isaacs earrings ... but I'm now wondering if they are just look-a-likes.
