Featured Chain on Locket

    What type of chain is this called? Is there any approximate time period for it? not sure if it's original to the locket. It's marked "sterling"

    What is marked sterling? The chain is handmade and may not have a specific name.

    I think of them as snake chains, but that's just me. Has the jump ring that holds the pendant to the chain been soldered closed?

    Chain construction looks similar to this one:

    Think the bracelet it is part of is Victorian, but that doesn't really say anything about the age of yours.

    It does look like a snake chain you're right, though I thought (maybe just assumed) the point of a snake chain was to have no catches and mine looks like it'll really catch on a pendant. The clasp is marked sterling
