Just seeing if anyone would have any information on this. My husband got it at an auction. I have no idea on an artist, time period, price or anything. Thank you.

Theres literally a zillion of these out there. Some rare and expensive, some not. Yours looks like mother of pearl (?) inlays, and nicer than most Ive seen.
Hello Eve, welcome. The folding screen is beautiful, but this type is still being made today, on an almost industrial scale. What is the size? Do you have pictures of the hinges? I am probably being an ignorant European here, but to me coromandel is a type of Asian wood. Is the word coromandel used for a lacquer screen?
Yes, coromandel is a rare wood from India and southeast Asia. It was pretty rare in furniture even in the 19th century. It was kind of like rosewood in that it was used for statement pieces, including alot of high-end jewelry boxes. It has a beautiful striped grain. I can't imagine that anyone would lacquer over it, or that it could even still be legally obtained at this stage of the game.
I know it is illegal in Indonesia nowadays. I have some old coromandel pieces, some of them Balinese Art Deco, but none of them later than ca 1970.
Coromandel was the term used in ones that closely resembled mine. There are a lot but can seem to find many that look like mine. There are no markings on it. Here are the hinges the brass feet and the original price tag not what we paid.
