Featured Are these individual tea balls?

    I'm not seeing a flow thru.....so maybe a shaker of some sort ?

    It might be a potpourri holder or something similar. It looks like would fly apart if you shook it.

    Look like mid 20th century individual salt/pepper shakers to me - have seen several variations, including some nice Japanese sterling versions (do seem to recall them coming out again around the '80s...)

    I think you are right about salt & pepper and the corrosion inside the lid in pic. #1 seems to bear this out.
