Don't know what this is. This was in the same box lot I got those dead fish things that get placed on dead folks eyes (see separate post). I don't think they are related. It's weird how this auction house groups things together. Anyway, I was thinking this is some sort of GUI? Is this jade or stone? Thanks for any help! Oh, the red object on the left doesn't have anything t do with this item. Just in case you were wondering ;)

    That is really 'unusual'.
Have you tried doing a google search with your last picture?

I am totally ignorant of Chinese items. If I am understanding GUI correctly though as a ritual bowl offering of food at a tomb I would think this could be a simple image of a bowl intended to serve that purpose perhaps. It would fit in a way with the fish eye coverings. Perhaps someone just had odd taste in what they collected.

Both the terms Gui and Hu seem to be used for either ritual vessels or for flat axe shaped ritual objects. No doubt someone made a mistake somewhere and as we know mistakes lead their own lives on the internet.
As far as I know Gui is the flat axe shape, and Hu is the vessel, but I could be wrong.
This is neither, so we don't have to untangle the confusion.
It looks like an archaic Chinese key amulet. The three dimensional representation on the front makes me think this is not archaic period.
