Hi all was hoping for some info on age and authenticity on attached necklace and pendant. Say sterling 925 on inside and 925 Italy on loop on necklace. Have mistaken cloisonne before so reserve judgement on pattern on front. I picked up today for 40 bucks and think I got something nice hoping for your opinion. Hi Chris.
This is a marriage, which is no problem. Pendants are often bought separately and put on any necklace the owner may have.
The necklace is in a style the Italians produce a lot, it is likely to be sterling (925), as marked.
The pendant is engraved and champlevé enameled, probably Thai and recent. Not the best quality. Thai (Siam) silver can have a lower silver fineness than marked.
Were the 40 bucks Aussie bucks? In that case it is an ok retail price.

Check anything with 925 Italy on it.
I`ve had that stuff in the past, when I did an acid test it disintegrated into a green blob.
Not all Italian silver, but some of the more modern late 80`s onwards.

I have a feeling both are real silver. Like Any said, it's a recent pendant, but it's bright and colorful. Thailand fits too.

That chased back doesn't look Thai to me.
