    Hello, all.

This 4-panel brass fireplace screen came from my in-laws' house. They owned it for over 40 years but I do not know if they purchased it new.

I do not want it (I already have a fireplace screen) and was wondering if it is worth taking to an antique store to see if they want to buy it or consign it, if I should just donate it outright to Goodwill (we give them a ton of our stuff), or try harder to find someone who wants it. I cannot see any maker's mark on it. A quick search online shows that there are so many of these for sale.

The mesh is high quality, and it appears to be fairly hefty. The handles are nice, too. But, unloess I am missing something, I see a lot of fairly similar new ones online for about $150, and I don't see if this is particularly distinguished from those.

I would appreciate your feedback. I certainly don't want to toss it, and I'd like it to have a good home.

Have you considered re-purposing it...maybe prop it on a dresser, find fine gauge hooks and display jewelry.

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

the brass looks thick enough and solid enough...to be good quality.....better'n stuff sold today.
It's gotta be worth some money.......& it folds up.....
Can't you store it anywhere....till the right gift opportunity comes along ?

Thanks. It is nice but not needed and not our style. I will keep seeing if anyone else wants it. Our house is stuffed to the gills with inherited stuff.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

If you have a Facebook (or other social media) group in your area for Buy/Sell/Free stuff, you could try either selling or giving it to somebody local. Although we have a Give Aways and a Sell forum on this site, I don't recommend that because of the shipping cost. Or maybe Craigslist?
