    Hi,
I have 8 different framed photo prints of model trains, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific and Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo RY. Framed they are about 16 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches. I'm guessing they date to the 30's or '40's based on the frame style? The dust paper backing was removed on one, there are no markings on the front or back of the print. Has anyone come across anything like these before? Know anything about this type of picture?

    Thank you :)

HO wasn't popular until after WWII; as I recall it hit its heyday in the 1960s-1970s. I'd call late 50s to mid-1960s on the prints. The earlier "hot" trains were larger scale, O and Standard. My late dad would have hung those in the bedroom if Mom would have let him.(LOL)

Those are fun. I agree with dates.

    That is my understanding too.

I did a bit of HO scale model railroading as a child in the late 90's, early 2000's. I'd guess 1960's-early 1970's on the prints in the OP's post.

Model railroading as a hobby was declining when I was doing it and is almost dead these days which is a shame since there are so many fascinating layouts, buildings, and accessories out there.

My dad bought some HO scale stuff in the Army PX (commissary these days) in the mid-50s but I think those prints came along later. They hobby was slowing down in the 90s and now it's pretty close to dead.
