    Happy Sunday, all!

I would appreciate information on yet another one of those "been in the family forever" antiques. This beveled mirrored medicine cabinet is about 13x20. My guess is that it is oak. I have always thought it to be Deco because of what looks like nickel or pewter knobs. Other than the mounting hardware on the top of the back everything appears to be original.

I would appreciate information on age, origin (American? English?) and approximate value. We plan to keep it.

When the door is opened it does tend to fall forward so I think it was always intended to be wall mounted.

The last photo is a closeup of the top, to show you the wood grain.

    Thanks!

I posted this last one above to show you the back of the knob in the pull out drawer. It looks like a wood plug. I believe the knobs are original.

I think it a bit older. Circa 1900. The incised lines and rounded corners of the mirror frame are typical of the period. Think the knobs are deco and a later addition. The plug behind the knob is the clue here. An original knob went all the way through and assume the new one screws in to the wood. It is oak.

    Hi,
I agree with Brad. I use mine in the kitchen as a spice cabinet. Without the bottom drawer it has a towel bar.

Thank you for your information. I was wondering about the knobs. Is there a name of the style involving the incised horizontal lines?

Often found on Eastlake furniture but there is not enough style to this to call it Eastlake.

Thank you. I enjoy learning as much as I can about an antique piece. Otherwise, I may as well buy something new.
