Oh yeah - picked this up the other day - more "art" - someone took some crystals from a defunct chandelier and made a cross - and then attached it to the top of an old bottle. It's gloriously funky, and now it's mine :D

Recent purchase at an antique mall. It is a 1940's era fan with the likeness of president Franklin Roosevelt on it. On the back is advertising from a Pennsylvania funeral home that apparently gave them away. I like it!

I got this ring on ebay for $20. The seller said it had a mark but they couldn't read it. It looked like possibly black hills gold so I decided to take a chance and buy it.

    It's 18k tricolor gold, 9 grams..woot woot!

This and the above bracelet were my best finds in a long time.

Johnnycbo9, I actually like the yellow-beaded vase (I find myself already getting somewhat used to the, in my opinion, overdone, overhanging beads at the top rim of the vase.

I'm picturing the vase being used for a single sturdy-stem flower or stem of a flowering shrub (not in any shade of yellow or chartreuse or red) and most definitely cut long enough not to have the flower "hanging over" the "overhanging" beads at the top. ;)

It wouldn't be my personal taste, but I'd love the dress Ann-Margaret is wearing ... and love fitting into it even more....

Hello gang! Have been gone on vacation for a week or so. Snuck in a little pickin' while out and today had an extra day off before starting to work again. There are so many great historical towns within 50-miles or less here. I apologize for my long winded post, but I have a lot to make-up for!

Some treasures I found last week include antique Royal Doulton dinner plates (gorgeous!), Minton plates, a neat, rare vintage restaurant platter for a defunct Coffee Company, a Shelley Toothpick and a Reuge Music Box. Also some pretty/fun marked sterling/jeweled earrings I'm having a terrible time figuring out the mark on, so expect to see those in the right forum.

These are my most favorite finds today. A few things I left behind, which I probably shouldn't have, but I'll be back in this area again 1-2 times each month for sure and there 2 stores at least I never stopped at.

I haven't been able to figure out the maker on this BEAUTIFUL set. It had no price on it, in a favorite hidden store of mine. I thought it might be for display only. She said how about $20.00 and make that half off today!' I said.. are you sure, that is a very fair price. 'Yessir!' I couldn't find the pattern in my Pressed Glass book and will start a post soon. I think someone treasured this and kept it near perfect forever. It makes me sad it didn't stay in the family (I have an entire scenerio in my head). I have removed the tape so there is no wear to the gold.

This small or smaller coffee pot by Myott in the Flamingo pattern seems to be an unusual piece. No record of it that I can find via a quick search.

The vintage Pyrex Gravy and Underplate (two pieces) are early Made In England pieces. I need to do more research. Both pieces on sale, $11.00 for both.

Not really sure about the lovely white bottle yet. Possibly Bristol (or not). Possibly a tonic bottle (or not). On sale at a different store for $1.00.

The antique sugar shaker is more 'ba-bam' in person and I am possibly thinking (but doubt it) of keeping it.

Haven't tried to ID the purple and gold sugar yet.

This vintage art lithographic rendering by John Richard Rowe of 42nd Street in New York is a great find. Wonderfully matted and ready to go:

And this one sheet - early calender for TWA is also nice. It has some fading and water damage, but still a nice example. It seems the pieces from the 1930's and earlier are desirable and those in poster form like this do well. We will see what happens:

Finally, not this weekend, but next we will be heading out to pick-up our two new doggie girls. I spent some time searching for sisters or good friends and was unable to find a good match for us locally. I have found an amazing match for us and us for them. Two beautiful girls, who became BFF's in foster care and this home specifically asked they be adopted together if possible due to their already bond. Housetrained, well behaved, with both needing some TLC - just like our baby girl did. I'll share pictures after they are in their new home. The kicker, we travel BACK to our old home State to get them.

Have a good night. Off to make dinner!

    OMGoodness, that 18k tri-color ring for $20!!!

I have been busy getting ready for my uncle's service on Thursday. I made two collages, had his shellback certificate framed (did I show you guys that yet?), gathered his 8 medals together, put a military video honor tribute together, created a song list to play at the service, ordered flowers, met with the pastor, selected the prayer cards, got photos together for another video feed presentation.... contacted a realtor to sell the house (an entity unto itself), getting paperwork together to file with the state..... I still have to photograph the medals. I did find this after a doctor's appointment last week, an antique mall was down the road, and this dealer never makes mistakes, just this one. 14k gold lavender jade and mabe pearl ring, sold as costume, $10.

    Nice all!
    That is a GREAT calendar!
    TWA was a teenager then.
    Nice find indeed!
That may be the year H Hughes bought it!

Wow, some great finds Funkey! Too funny to see that shaker - I was at a show and there was a pair of them, I went to pick one up but someone started talking to me, while I was talking someone else came along and snapped them up! The glass set is beautiful!
