I googled Penzance and could only find 1 similar image. Trying to figure out value if any......thanks!

You don't give size but... It appears to be a colored plate from the book Our Own Country which was published in 1898. Have you looked under the mat? There should be text and a page number.

Wood engraving, probably hand-colored, any time since its publication. There's an outfit in California called Prints Old and Rare that colors old newspaper (the paper was better in the 19th century) and book illustrations for sale. At a guess, this would retail in the $30-$50 range, based on stuff I used to buy from them in the '90s.

The eBay seller describes them as steel engravings.

In that listing, the frontispiece of the castle is a steel engraving, but the lake scenes are wood engravings. It was not uncommon to have both - steel engraving is much finer and more expensive to produce, requiring both special paper and presses, so they are not as common.

So I am a bit confused over the wood vs steel engravings? Which is mine, how can one tell?
