Featured Tapestry info

    Hi was hoping someone could give me some info on the tapestry I picked up was in an old frame which was pretty damaged so took out faded on front but not back appreciate any info is 900mm x 300mmchris 15029659966999.jpg 15029660284630.jpg 15029660548971.jpg

    Hi,
    An antique tapestry would have the reverse almost the same as the front. Later on the tapestry would have bands of color as yours does. I am sorry that I can not tell when "they" started using the bands of color.

    Georgian hunting scene. Machine-made. Likely made in France or Belgium. Early 20th century.

    Could be. I've got a couple similar which have been in my family since 1930-1940.....marked France and Belgium, as Debora mentioned. (Stamped in ink on the back, rather faintly; would be worth closely examining the back of yours for such a stamp).
