001-GLASS-PLATES-THREADED-GREEN-900W.jpg These are off-round, with slightly wavy edges
    and measure anywhere from 7" - 7 & 3/8" dia.

That's a shadow of the Steuben mark.

Mark rubbed with pencil lead makes it show up
    better!
045-STEUBEN-GLASS-PLATES-THREADED-GREEN-900W.jpg These marks were so difficult to find, I put
    tape over them, too. :joyful:

The plate rims curve up approx. 3/4" from the
    table top.
010-STEUBEN-GLASS-PLATES-THREADED-GREEN-1200W.jpg Also, in the center of each plate, there is a
smooth, sightly raised circle in the exact
center, surrounded by 12 slightly raised ovals,
that look like a 12 petal flower. I can't make it
show in the pictures. It has to be tilted in the
light at exactly the angle to be able to see it.
Would this be called "inverted thumbprint"?
The bottoms are completely flat and smooth.

Would these be called underplates, salad plates, dessert plates or....?

I'm still working on it, but if the glass people
have any idea of era/age, I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks!

Your petals' are probably whats known as an optic, although it may have been intended to resemble a flower.
Age, before 1930 or so, when the company changed hands and went to clear glass.
Inverted thumbprint or 'IVT' is a collector's name for Polka Dot, an original term from 1884.
    I'd call them 'cake plates'.
    Good job on the photos.

Optic! It would have taken me a long time to think of that. It seems so obvious now that you say it.
Thankyou Cherryhill for all the other info, too.:)

Just have to say, those are absolutely gorgeous plates. Can you imagine eating a piece of cake on one? It would be breathtaking.

Great photos, good spotting the Steuben mark and thumbprint, plus wonderful additional info from Cherryhill.

    Incredible knowledge on this board.

Steuben called these "reeded" rather than "threaded", the difference being that reeding was hand applied and irregular while threading was done by machine and uniform.

Does anyone have any photography tips/tricks to help me get the 'optic' design on the flat surface of these plates to show up in my pictures? I'm very frustrated.:bigtears:

It seems to show up well in photos of hollow pieces all over the internet.

Tried shooting it sitting on a mirror yet? Sometimes that helps. Or a light tent. Or both. It works for jewelry.

I'll try anything at this point. Will let you know if I have success.
Don't have a light tent, but will try the mirror. Thanks!

Try leaning it against a window and shooting from the inside out.

I'd pull the shade down first, to keep the Great Outdoors from cluttering up the image.

Put a piece of graph paper behind the area with the optic. That should show any light distortion.

And even better, this pic shows the 'petal' shape better:
