rooster.JPG rooster.JPG rooster.JPG I have a set of 8 of these tumblers that came with a set of Metlox Poppy Trail dinnerware I got at an estate sale, and can't find the maker. They are signed, but I can't make it out on a single one. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Sorry couldn't help myself...

The glasses almost look hand painted, however looking at the two side by side, they are identical. Must be some kind of transfer. You say they are signed? Can we get a closer look at the signature?

    Not a bad guess, Komokwa.

Possible these are some artist's decoration, and not massed produced. This kind of thing might be hard to nail down, but see what others think.

Don't think so. I saw it on ebay a long time ago, and my old mind forgot to save it. They are definitely hand-painted and I thought maybe an off-shoot of Gay Fad, but really am clueless.

I think Laura might have it! At least we know they aren't a one off.

Thanks Laura. I knew they weren't a one off as I saw them on Ebay before. Wish I had the shaker to go with them. Paid $10 for all 8, so think I did OK.

Dyball was a mid-century outfit that did a lot of barware, but most of that was signed Dyball, and that isn't what we have here. Getting closer though.

I have an interesting Ruster. But no information about it. The mark on the bottom is not clear and I cannot identify it.
Again, I tried to load the photo but failed.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Laura's item has that "Tuscany"-looking mark, alright.
    I get a real 40s-50s vibe off the rooster-dude.
I think some of these MCM merchants borrowed images back and forth. Grrr.

The glasses look Hazel Atlas-ish to me. Check the bottoms carefully, a Hazel Atlas mark can be very small but they're usually dead center. Frosting can further obscure it.

I thought HA as well, but don't see even the faintest sign of a marking on any of them.
