Curious about the purpose of this table?

    IMG_20170813_091020.jpg Picked up what I believe to be a late Victorian table. It has two unusual side shelves underneath, I thought perhaps they were intended for plants? Wondering if anyone knows for certain what their purpose would be? I tried looking online for a similar one and came up blank, and unfortunately the label is missing from the bottom.

    I like that too. It would hold two tall vases nicely, preferably metal ones if there are small children or dog tails around.

    Haha thanks for the suggestions! :) Yea I was pretty excited to find it, and thanks to a bit of damage on top I could afford it ;)
