image.jpeg image.jpeg Came across this postcard from an RAF base at Bridgnorth Salop would like to know something about its possible value .It could be a Seargeant R J Girvan who was a glider pilot in that same area but have no experience with military stuff like this.Would it be of interest to military collectors maybe ?

I doubt its worth much, but you can try.
BTW Salop is a short version of the county of Shropshire.

How exactly do you folks come up with your abbreviations??? I've always wondered. Salop = Shropshire. Chumley for Cholmondeley. Etc. Just can't figure it out.

You've got his service number there - he was an Aircraftsman 2 at the time the card was written. I see no reason not to think it's your sergeant, given the relatively uncommon name. Having said that, no 1 was a fighter squadron based mostly at Tangmere. I suppose he might have been training.

Unless he was decorated or noteworthy, not a lot of value, but interesting. My dad was a glider pilot, parachute regiment.
