    Hi,

Could anyone tell me approximately how much this might be worth?
It is circa 1960's and is G Plan. It is a sofa divan which has storage underneath.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I had the same sofa in my old travel trailer in the 70s.

Would go for a bit more than that around where I am - northern Virginia / DC area - probably a couple (2-3) hundred.

So G Plan seems to be quite popular in the UK. Yours looks to be in great condition, and if you were over there probably around $600, maybe more even.

Over here I am not sure (assuming you are in the US).

Quickly looking at auctions, I couldn't find any similar sold in the US.

eBay had a few credenzas by G Plan being sold for $1k plus.

In my area of the Upstate SC, my guess is you could get $300 or so. More if you were willing to sit on it a little bit until it found its new owner. MCM is still pretty in here though so mileage can vary.

I like it, although Id want it to be a little funkier in color for myself.

I recently sold this couch that if your couch was in its color, I am fairly sure I could get $400.

    People like funky here.

Around here...good luck with that. It would sell, but you'd be lucky to see $200 out of it. That gold one would end up out for the large trash pickup.

Retro shop in London? Absolutely about the $500 mark or more. I'd actually call it a studio couch convertible to a bed. That upholstery is original and in very nice nick, too. I really like the colour.

Every market is different. I had a lot of interest in that funky Ugly Betty couch. Very artsy girl who ended up with it.

I sold a similar couch about 2 years ago in the Boston area for $600. Mid century modern sells very well in larger urban markets.

No surprise there. The arty types here into the funky stuff are also the broke types here who can't afford those prices.

I sold it for $300 and it will probably outlast the buyer its so well built.

Much under $200 here you are going to get an Ashley used couch with pet damage and the arm will break in a year or two.

No doubt. Or Ikea in about the same condition. The local Habitat for Humanity store (charity resale) sells all sorts, but I don't think they even take in Ashley stuff. Those go in the skip.
