I`m in the process of doing a house clearance, the property has not been updated since it was built in the late 1920`s.
Its a mess and I fell through the floor boards too, it has dry rot and woodworm infestation.
I`m getting paid to empty it and I can keep anything I want.

I have found one or two nice pieces but today I uncovered this in the main bedroom, its been covered up by a wardrobe for about 80 years.
Art Deco electric fire and surround, egg shell enamelled cast iron.
Its covered in decades of dust but still works as it was still wired in to the mains.

    Its now out.

Yes so true, no earth wire either.
My son who is an electrician came down with a view to purchasing the house to resell and he condemned the electrical system, all power is now cut off.

Good! The house sounds like a borderline gut job one way or the other. Were the kitchen appliances of similar vintage? If so they're worth taking too, or would be here.

Yes a total gutting, rewiring, roofing, flooring, plastering, central heating, new kitchen, bathroom, everything.
My son has tendered a cash offer, we will wait and see.

The only other appliance was a fridge and it went to the tip.
I recovered an iron & brass standard lamp and a nice Edwardian pot cupboard.

I did get another modern TV though, that`s seven I have now,:D
4 for viewing, 2 as PC monitors and one for sale.

Very nice everyone. Here the sales have been G'd awful with nothing to buy.

Love those Deruta mugs, making a note to myself to remember them in my travels.

    Cool pics and jacket KOT.

DSCF5961.JPG It looks dead here this weekend. OTOH, I found this set in the IllWill yesterday. The bracelet and earrings pegged out my dram scale. That includes the stones of course, and the safety chain is missing, but this is a hefty set. Sterling and assorted semi-precious stones, aka random pretty rock. (mahogany obsidian, onyx, sodalite, aventurine, and something dark green with a sparkle in it. More aventurine probably.)

Just a few pretties,I apologize if the pics arent the best,Ive got the shakies for some reason today and these were the best I could get. The blue swirl vase has a signature, but its impossible to get a pic of.The frame especially floored me,as I found it in a thrift for $6 and the thrift NEVER lets a treasure slip through. I tried to identify the green vase and the blue one with google, but I never seem to get it right. Any ideas on the glass?

No idea on the glass; one of the glassies will be along sooner or later. The frame however was a serious score.

Nice job on the frame, Johnny. I found other past examples priced between $495 - 595. online. Would depend on the size and obviously desirability if you decide to sell it. But, still a great find ;)
