I am a 52-year-old mom of twins (preteen girls), married to a great guy, living in North Carolina. I work from home for a mortgage software platform company in California. I love antiques and wandering around thrift and flea markets aimlessly for hours. My family hates this. So I'm here looking for other enthusiasts.

    Welcome, Kathy!
Wandering aimlessly sounds like the story of my life:confused:, but it is a great way to learn.
Do you ever take anything home (does the family let you)? If so, can we see?

Kathy, you may be in trouble. Some of us (attempt to) make a living wandering aimlessly looking for old stuff. I'm a jewelry hoarder; others might call it collecting, but I believe in honesty.:kiss::kiss::chicken: What follows you home?

That's an assortment all right. I have a similar glass lamp in one of the bedrooms, but I had to disassemble, clean and rewire mine. Looks like you're doing OK so far!(LOL) Someone is going to come along and ask all sorts of questions about that chest....

    Hi Kathy! Welcome!

I love your "assortment"! But especially the framed Swedish coloring book pages.....they'd be hanging in my house too!

Hello, I am 72 years old living in Jacksonville, FL and still collecting. I also haunt thrift stores, estate sales, and flea markets looking for vintage goodies and antiques. I am lucky enough to have 2 daughters interested in the things I find, and one daughter who does her own hunting. Its a fun, rewarding, and inexpensive hobby. I do not work outside the home so I have extra time to indulge this pass time. I love to visit neighboring towns looking for new places to shop, usually no more than 100 miles away. Its a fun day out. Take a friend, shop, eat lunch, shop some more, then head home where you examine the day's finds and collapse happily planning your next excursion. The joys of being retired.

Are talking about the links below the images? That how it looks when a member embeds images that have been uploaded to the Gallery.
