I have all these old drawings not by anyone famous. All done by the same person. Who according to the pictures was just a boy that the time the were done. But they are dated 1886 to 1900. Just curious do you think they would even be worth trying to sell. Emil Svante Olsen Tegnell was born 23 Feb 1877 in Fosterup, Kristianstad, Sweden. He arrived in Boston, MA 5 May 1910, having travelled from Sweden to Liverpool, England. He applied for citizenship in 1926, was a "painter" by occupation was living on West Dedham Street, Boston with his wife Annetta (also born in Sweden) at that time.

Dang how did you find that, I have spent hours an only came up with him being an immigrant from Sweden. I guess I am slipping on my research skills. An thank you Very Much.

I saw the Fold3 records in your Google list and went straight to Ancestry to see them. All I needed was his full name, approximate birth year and voila!

Here's a bit more - his wife (and 4 children) did not come over until 1920. And he went back (after his first arrival in 1910 at least once in about 1915.) His occupation of painter if the regular "house painting" type, not the "artist" type (which is too bad given the skill evident in those drawings.) He registered for the WW1 draft and gave his wife's address as Helsingborg, Sweden.

He seems to have died about 1962.

He had talent. Most likely just lacking in opportunity.

    toomanytocount Boredom is a sin.

These were so good that I had a hard time believing they were from a young man, before he reached his full potential. Fantastic and the story too :joyful:. Loved them.

I guess that means theyre worth selling to the descendents, or the city hall of where he was. Honestly to have something reference so easily, you have something for the art gallery.

He certainly had talent. There might be a descendant around.
