Since the lines on this are more curvilinear then Art Deco, can I assume that this is later, 1940's Art Moderne?

It holds 78 rpm records, too small for 33/13 rpm records. Measures 25" by 13" by 20" tall. All solid wood, no veneer (including the fretwork). Any thoughts on type of wood? MVC-147S.JPG MVC-148S.JPG MVC-149S.JPG MVC-150S.JPG MVC-151S.JPG MVC-152S.JPG

I have one of those! It's chippy painted white (no, I didn't paint it). The microwave sits on top and the bottom stores baking sheets, cupcake pans and wire racks. Where's Brad?

Good use for one. My guess is walnut. Late 30s?

A variation on a canterbury. Original main use storing sheet music.

Could be a piano stool. I'd not be surprised if it were 1930s.

I think late 30s or so is right on. It does appear to be walnut veneer. I also think the art moderne term could be used for this. The fretwork is a little fussy for art moderne but the styling is simple enough and in enough of a deco mode that it could still fit. I really see art moderne as a subset of art deco so it sometimes gets to splitting hairs.
