Drop-leaf Gate Leg Table

    Does anyone know anything about this table? We recently purchased it at a consignment store. I put the picture in my album along with a picture of the top of the table.

    Looks to be mahogany 1920s or so. Usually see these more narrow when closed, so a rather large version.

    Do you think it's american made? Any idea what it's worth?

    Probably American if found here but many were made in England and found their way over. Value is location and market specific. Sales venue determines a lot. Here in my semi-rural Midwest location, I would expect this to sell for under $100.00 at auction or other wholesale venue and under $250.00 at retail. Your location may do better (or worse).

    In looking at center board, agrees this seems like a very large gate leg table which, generally speaking does not help value these days. Smaller is usually better in today's market.
