Hello, BarbsJourney. In addition to Terry's suggestion, you should also click on Edit below your post, then Other Options and then change your picture from Thumbnail to Full Image and Save Changes. When you post the next picture, please check Full Image when attaching to the reply.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Full sized.........Tiny writing by the two RED arrows you might want to check out!!! Below, to me, the marks (?) look like they could be some sort of flowers, but I just can't tell!! We really DO need to see the WHOLE piece!!!:):)

Looks like solder under the arrows.

It looks like the back of a Navajo style piece of jewellery to me.
Is the maker's mark the stippled name (Mark Vany, Varsy?), or the thingies to the right of it which look like someone slipped when punching a Scottish thistle?

I didn't realize any artist would use a cheap etching tool on the back of their precious metal to scratch their name in!!:eek:

I first read it as Vera Wang then thought the same thing, it wouldn't look that way.

I do think it's the punch marks (if they are punch marks) we could use a few more photos of as well as the front of the piece. I think I see a thistle/rose or something too.
