I bought this today at my local thrift store for $1.00 because glass was broken and they thought it was a print. I removed from frame and part of it was smeared on glass.
It measures 26 inches long, I cannot make out the signature, can anyone here make it out ?

    Thank You

It's thought that most of these were painted in a factory, run by Chandler, there's a couple other names used but I can't think of them now.

Frish painted in the 19/20 century and probably Heinrich Ludwig Frisch and died in the very early 1900's. there is a book on pastels of this era you can go see the book athttp://www.doorpi.net/~jwhitney there are a few painting of frish mentioned in this book.

This is an old posting and the links don't work.
