Sepia painting by A. Simon

    i purchased this years ago when it was described as a sepia work by marvel artist aaron simon. Post purchase research revealed that aaron simon was a writer, not an artist, which leaves me wondering "who painted this?" Any ideas?

    Sepia is tones of brown and tan. This looks like a black & white to me.

    Can't help with the ID. I like it. Has a mid-century vibe to me. I wouldn't call it sepia, which is a reddish-brown. Might be an ink wash drawing. Grisaille is a term that refers to pictures in shades of grey, but it generally has a trompe l'oeil association, which this is not.
