I have an old table that I think is pretty unique looking. I don't really know if it's just a cool old table or possibly valuable. Anyone have thoughts on this?

The table is about 26" square with a lower shelf. Height is about 30". I think the cool part is the dragon brackets that hold the lower shelf. (see photos). Thanks for any info you can give.

It's cool alright...Dragons...Claw & Ball feet......to me though, it just doesn't look old.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

If it is old, it appears to have been rehabbed. And it does look pretty cool!

Yes, I'm certain the finish is new. It was probably stained a darker color and, as you can see in the closeup, the hardware has been painted over. Still a nice piece.

I personally would prefer the original brass finish. I've never seen one with those connecting pieces before.

Being a dragon person, I would love for these heads to be dragons, but I think they are lions. Very nice though, in a quirky way. I like it.

I'm going to guess circa 1880-1890, give or take? It's pretty cool.

I had one that my daughter took with her when she bought her house. It has glass balls under the claws. I love the drago-lions.

Late Victorian variation on a claw and ball parlor table. Have seen this shelf support fairly often. Wouldn't call it common but also not terribly rare.

Had to look that one up, I've never seen Game of Thrones.:(
My love of dragons has to do with my ancestors, their history is pretty much like Game of Thrones. This calls for a Madurese dragon keris of course;):

Do you have any thoughts on value? I bought this as part of a lot of furniture that I use in my gallery to display work on. Someone has asked me to sell them the table, but I have no idea if it's valuable or just interesting.

I have tried to ignore Game of Thrones, but my husband - who only ever watches sports! - has become an addict. Right now he's just finished binge-watching past seasons so when the new season starts, he'll be up to speed. I predict they'll all kill each other off and the fat librarian will be the only one left. Although, he might do a Fahrenheit 451 and immoliate himself on his books if the dragons come through.

I love this! I think it looks great! Very Game of Thrones... like if the Lannisters and Targaryens houses melded!
