Got these a while back - they've been in a box, I just unpacked them today. They are about 10" high. I'm not sure what to call the top/lip design. They look to have had gold paint around the lip/rim at some point. Any idea where/when these may have been made? Thanks again good people :)

The cut tops, while not exclusively, are indicative of Bohemian production, ca. 1900. That type of finish appears in catalogs from that period.

I was going to say the same thing - Tom beat me to it. Bohemian late 1880s to early 1900s.

Could be the red Bohemian translucent glass, these are also called hyacinth vases, due to large upper part of the body to contain the bulbs, rim sometimes called scalloped or crenelated. Not sure about dating, looks hand blown, molded with not pontil and the rim is hand cut. Nice pair. :)

I thought you were describing a girlfriend of mine from long ago. Nice vases, I also vote Bohemian.
