Got this at a yard sale today. It's about 9" tall. It was cute and everything in the kitchen was $1, so it was a bargain. It's not as yellow as the photos show. Bad lighting. It says Made in Japan in script.

Somewhere, I have a corn pitcher, too. In the summer we rent rooms to J1 foreign student workers and there's a lot of traffic in the house. I put away anything I don't want broken.

The 1870 portion of the house has a living room, a sitting room, a formal dining room, a large room we've turned into a downstairs bath & laundry room, an eat-in kitchen and what was once the "breakfast room" is now my office for our business. Upstairs are a bathroom and five bedrooms. We added an apartment over the garage and shop for our son & grandson and there's a large room connecting it to the main house that is an upstairs laundry room and office. It's always full of people because when you own a house on the Cape with extra rooms, everyone eventually finds their way to your door. ;)

I took a photo in full daylight to show the real color. The only 'orangey' portion is the handle. I don't really see an orange here, except for the bumpy surface and the leaves. Would it have faded?? IMG_5228.JPG

then the handle would have faded too....?
still looks like an orange though...

    Hi,
The handle is a stem and would be brown. Orange might have been a fugitive color when this was made.

A very big home......with a heart(s) to fill it. Otherwise people would not eventually find their way to your door.

And now I know the rest of the story!!

    TY!

    A "fugitive" color. Interesting.
