Can you tell me the type of wood this is?

I have a soda shop Back Bar. In my research I believe the item is made between 1900-1910.

Based on the one pic of the wood, it looks like mahogany (or a non-descript wood stained to mimic mahogany). I think you are right on with your dating, though could also be post 1910 a bit.

What a grand piece! What does that brass plate have on it ?

 

Really cool piece! Is that a marble countertop? Can't tell the wood species from your photo's.

 

Looks more like walnut. Beautiful piece!

Yes it is marble 1" thick 10' long

•This is an antique back bar from my families store in Woodburn, KY in my research I would believe it was made between 1900- 1910. There is a sign on the front indicating this item was made by Frigidaire and another sign behind the center doors of Bishop & Badcock Co.
•10’ long
•9’ tall
•18” deep
•1” thick marble top
•Beveled Mirror 48” x 90”

The lower bar
•1” thick marble top.
•2 drawers (one is missing)
•6 glass front doors
•Center doors open opposite direction
•2 slated shelves
All hardware is brass

 

Not sure it is way too big for my house

 

Yeah, that's why i asked, it is very large & finding a home for it could prove difficult.

 

It's a shame right now I had to put it in a storage unit. I guess some one redoing an old home or business, such as a bar/restaurant
