I have had goldens in my life since I was a kid - showed in obedience and conformation shows for years. Then started getting my goldens from humane societies about 20 years ago. Lost my last golden just over a year ago (such a Mama's boy he was!). Right now I only have a rescue beagle but I recently retired and am hankering for another sweet golden. . .soon I hope!

Know what you mean, we are enjoying our 2nd generation, with 2 more goldens, a male and female 5 and 4 years old.
My husband cried like a baby when the first male and female died, at 11 years old, one a virulent cancer, the other a neurological disease like MS for dogs.
I wish I could have worked with them too. Thank you for sharing your story.

When I went for the auction, I checked again the box to see if the glass ball was still there but the smaller box, containing the ball, was empty!
So I got really disappointed. I searched again all over the box and I saw that somebody had moved the glass ball into a different spot under the commemorative plates :)

I don't know what's the tall cylinder vase for.
On the bottom it says "Gallery .... something".
    I'll post a quick photo...

The frog had one of it's legs broken it seems and someone glued it back. It has a mark or something but cannot read it.

The flamingo figurine is a "AK Kaizer, W.Germany".
I really like it too. I have another "Kaizer" and it's a white vase with flowers embedded onto it.

Thank you for the tip concerning the duck!
It is cold to the touch so now I know it's from a kind of stone :)

I don't think we have katydid's over here but we have aphids and I think a katydid looks more similar to an aphid :)

What is the pink opalescent thing & the other duck? They look to be some type of glass.

Yes the green vase is a Wedgwood and I agree with you that is not a good seller anymore.

The vase with the Irises it's from a the National Trust, made by a lady called Nicola Withan??? I can't be sure about the surname...

Hi Peggy, nice to be here :)

The pink glass is a fish and there's as you said a glass duck....

Even though the head of the fish (the beak especially) looks like of a chicken! :)

Aphids are very tiny compared to katydids. Not sure where you are located but do you call them: bush crickets (UK)?

Aphids are tiny little nasties. That vase is much nicer - Nicola Withahn? The glass critters may both be Murano; someone who knows glass will probably recognize them.

The cylinder vase - very new I imagine - is from Gallery Thea in Southwold.

:) I know that aphids are tiny but sometimes it looks to me like a smaller version of katydids.
    I live in Scotland.
