To understand why my heart it still pounding after 40 minutes, you should know I collect this type of glass and have my own new website as reference material about it.

This vase appeared on an auction site, as I was doing some research, in the 'for sale' category, and I was in the 'sold' category. The colors and the shape jumped at me, I clicked on the image, and this auction was already in progress, hurried to register, this took an hour or so, with 15 minutes to go for my item. Start price $25., bid a max amount a bit higher, low and behold no other bidders, and it lasted all of 40 seconds if that. Just got my confirmation email.

This glass decor is called 'canari shimmy pfau' in the Ruckl literature for 1928. There are 6 different color combinations with the cobalt blue on the bottom which looks like black flames on a satin finish.

It is an odd shape, typical angular base, probably a barber's or other type of bottle, with a silver collar. The first in this color combination in my collection. So excited, the Gods were smiling tonight.

If you don't like, I don't blame you. It's a clunky, heavy brightly colored type of glass. When you hold it, that's when you see the good workmanship, hand blown and molded, fired in a furnace, where all the work happened. No dainty details, just
    plain and simple lines. :woot::woot::woot:

I'm a little shy about it, it's called rucklczglass.com. Was published in Sept. 2015 after 6 months of work to assemble information, permissions, images etc.
It's been growing steadily in size and in visits.
My favorite project right now. Thanks for asking.

It wouldn't be something I'd jump on, but I can see where someone would appreciate it. Your website turns up on a Ruckl Glass google search, btw, so people who are interested will find it.

Thank you cluttered, no, most of the pieces are not mine, many belong to friendly Czech glass collectors or used with permission of other people that own them or sold them. I did start a page with my own growing collection of pieces on the site to show visitors.
My purpose was to share the progress of the glass identification as time went by and the increasing number of pieces for me to show.
I used to belong to another collector site for several years, where there were 2 groups, feuding about this specific glass, it was not pleasant or comfortable. So still nervous about it. :nailbiting:

Not surprised, did not appeal to me either at first, not till I had a few pieces of it, my mother collected Murano glass, so very different from what I was used to.

Murano doesn't appeal much either, except for the beads, and those only for resale.

Believe it or not, pre-WWII railroad stuff. My late dad was a rail nut and I still have a "grab that" reflex when it comes to railroadiana and toy trains. Fortunately not much of it turns up. Crazy copper jewelry, the crazier the design the better. Rock crystal, any and all. Old Judaica; I have an instinct to rescue it, and rehome it if needed. I'd love to hoard cats, the real deal, but can barely handle the one I have.

I am not a glassie, but I know a good design when I see one. This is a good design. I like it as long as I only look for a second. Nothing to do with the vase, but bright yellow is a real problem since my last encephalitis, and can really cause havoc.
The new Dutch police uniforms have bright yellow bands on them now, so I avoid police officers like the plague. It probably makes me look very suspicious at times.
Very nice site, toomany, and a wonderful project.

That is fun, my husband is into the old railroad and train collecting, he is building a large platform for his hobby, to run the HO train size, etc. All I know is from him talking about it.

Thanks you for sharing your own interests. Interesting too.

The kitchen is not right without a bottle of maple syrup handy, even if in Ontario the prices are crazy. Good one!

Thank you for the fine compliment AJ. Sorry you are having problems with your health and vision. I guess nobody is immune after a certain age.

Glad you like the style. Kind of in your face glass color and decor, it does grow on you. Gotta say this period of Czech glass did produce some really strange shapes, color combinations, and glass textures compared to the other Europeans. LOL

I really like this piece! My first impression was that it should have a stopper. So the mention of barber's bottle or like seems logical to my unknowing eye.

I'm not a glass collector (ceramics primarily) but I do like globby glass so I am a fan of much Czech glass.
