So this is an item i have had for some months. I bought it from an estate sale company's eBay page at scrap gold price, is item solid 10k if marked I believe it should be? Too nice to acid test. I have a tester kit. Would the pin protruding from the back be gold? Thanks... and it reads "Annaburg Manor" featuring that picturesque manor in gold with black background. As seen in photographs I took a moment ago. Item is maybe 1/4 to half an inch by 3/4 to a inch. Rectangular. The back has a 10k stamp and is marked CTO(R). Is this Pin for the manor pictured in the link following? I am almost sure it is. I believed they salvaged the old manor instead of demolishing.. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/03/20/AR2007032002143.html
OC Tanner makes many different service pins like this. They generally only sell as scrap unless for a kewl place.
Is this items Pin that goes through the clothing/ into backing made of gold as well? It seems to be same color. That part I wouldn't mind testing with soloutiom but want to avoid it
Usually these weigh 2.00 grams of gold. If it weighs more, the pin is likely not gold. If it weighs right on two, then pin probably is gold.
