Can you take clear closeups of the hand made nails and joints on drawers, etc? That style looks 1980s to me. Also, we can usually click on an image and it enlarges. I'd like a better look at the hardware. My husband is a locksmith and I might be able to give you more info about the locks that you say are old. Those long decorative pieces are just like ones on a hutch that I have from the 20th century.

Yeah, I am goin with annpan on this one. It's out of my field of interest but this is not 18th century construction or form, i would guess 20th century.

I am seeing oak now in these latest pics. Also see straight regular saw marks in the last pic. Not seeing 18th century but could be mid 19th century.

Not Dutch or German, I'd go for French. They have been making similar furniture in France for a couple of centuries now. It is a traditional style, so not a copy or repro, but the style people in regional France have had in their homes since the 18th century, whether newly made or inherited.

So it's probably mid 19th Century French so over 200 years old at least.
One member on here said her husband could identify the locks, looking forward to hearing about these as well.
    Cheers for your help

I've done a lot of research over past few days and I think I have nailed it as an 18th Century provincial French oak Vaisselier or Buffet with a plate rack and 6 drawer cutlery storage with carved scalloped aprons with cabriole legs . The full length hinges are typical French 28th Century, just need to nail down the lock provenance

I was away for a few days. I'm going to drag my husband in here to look at the lock, but can you also post a picture of the exterior view? Does it have a strike plate or just a hole cut in the side for the latch to go into?

I may be wrong, but I'm seeing machine tooling on some of those surfaces. It could just be the photos.

These pieces are on a late 19th early 20th century secretary that was in my husband's family. From the first picture, I think they look like the ones on your piece. IMG_5143.JPG
