I know very little about silver or antiques so i was looking for some help. I have two engraved silver plates one stamped WMA Rogers, and another one with a sticker that Says WM Rogers. There is also a largish tea kettle type object that says wma Rogers. There is also a silver saucer as well as a goblet and what im guessing is 2 receptacles for sugar etc. Any how, will post pics, just looking for info and possible values. I have only been able to find stamps of the kettle and the two plates so far

    silver plated...is not sterling silver....
I hope it was a very good price because I don't see a large value here.
The salt and pepper ....are not part of the set.....and if you can find marks...may be sterling !
The gravy boat and cup..? are not part of any set either....& the coffee pot...looks to have a broken leg...making it ...if plated nearly impossible to sell.
The silver plated tray looks to have a repair.....again making it very hard to sell.

Go back to your listing pot and edit it & click on FULL IMAGE....above the thumbnails...so your pics can be seen in larger format.

At that price you could make a little money......but we'd still like to see any marks..
Phones are nasty for over sizing pics...here we need them to be under 1 MB....if you can resize them.....they'll get thru !

Welcome! As you have already surmised, only some of these pieces match - the coffee pot, covered sugar and creamer are a "set." And the tray that also says Wm. A Rogers (as you've said those 3 pieces have) at least comes from the same maker, but is such a generic design that it may not have been originally sold with the pot, creamer and sugar.

The tray or platter with the Wm. Rogers sticker is from a different manufacturer. There were 2 "William Rogers" companies - not related. The William A. Rogers company came out of upstate New York and later Ontario, Canada and was owned by Oneida beginning in 1929. The William Rogers with no A, came out of a longstanding family of makers of (mostly) silverplated goods from Connecticut. That firm was one of the many which joined together in 1898 to form International Silver.

Unless any of these pieces say "sterling" on them somewhere, they are plated.

Do the gravy/sauce boat, goblet and shakers have any marks at all?

It appears that on the inside of the legs of the sugar receptacles is some kind of stamp but it is really really difficult to make out

Also, lets just assume this is all plated...since that seems to be the consensus. Is any of this stuff sellable and if so whats the value?

By "receptacles for sugar" do you mean the two shakers (that are in front of all the other items in your first picture?)

No, those are brass im pretty sure and were in the "set". Im very sorry, im quite new to this and am not really up to date on my antique silver dish nomenclature. I appreciate everyones patience. By receptacles i was referring to the two similarly shaped 4 legged short squat items. Im guessing one for cream one for sugar?

A check of ebay SOLD items should give you a realistic idea. Try searching "Rogers silverplate coffee set" (w/o the quote marks).
When I had a quick peek, clean matched sets (pot/creamer/sugar but w/o matching tray) in very good condition seem to go for $20-$30. If they have a nice pattern and a matching tray, or are pristine, they may realize a bit more.

Editing to add: On closer inspection of your photos, the creamer and covered sugar you show do match each other but don't match the coffee pot.

Why do you think the creamer and sugar don't match the coffee pot? The handles sure look the same (dimensions adjusted to height) to me.

Exactly, the one with the lid is a "covered sugar bowl" and the other a "creamer."

The handles, finial, and the base on the c&s are different than the handle/finial/base on the pot:

I see your point, Bluumz, although I attributed to connection point differences to the differences in size and weight of the contents. They looked close enough in all other regards.

One thing that seeing your enlargements did make me wonder, though. Of the coffee pot's 2 feet, one looks like the "pad part" has broken off. That's a deal killer, if true.

The salt and pepper look like pewter from here.

They are definitely very close in appearance. For me, however, the finials on the pot and the sugar lid are too different to make a nice married set. But I tend to be picky about details, LOL.
