This is an odd one. I bought it thinking I might use it as a bird bath, but it may be a bit too decent. There's an impressed mark and I can make out 1886 with what might be Italy or summat else above. Short word anyhow.

And the other mark, my other half thinks looks like a fox or cat face! I'm perplexed. Glaze reminds me of Belgian pots.

I found some listed as Jasba, Germany, but no clear marks picture or reference. The impressed word is supposed to be Germany.

The first thing I saw was a Fox like creature, but I'm always finding crazy images in things that exist only in my hallucinations :)

@Ownedbybear, I inverted the image with the date close-up.....I don't come up with 'Italy', but do with a VERY FAINT partial poor copy of the 1886 date.....above the better visible date.....I tried to enhance it, but doesn't enhance very well.......if you take the time to focus, I think you'll see two 8's best, and a really FAINT 6.....above the visible 1886.....

Also, in looking at the FULL back of it, I saw what I thought looked like 3 small hairline cracks around the edges.....would they be detrimental if used as a bird bath in weather???? Just looking to keep a lovely bowl!!! And yes it WOULD be a gorgeous bird bath.....maybe can waterproof if those are real cracks???

Thanks all, very appreciated. I did think it wasn't a date, and those impressed numbers are very German. I suspect this pre dates the fat lava days: between the wars maybe.

It's got a couple of hairlines on the rim, nothing too bad. It may yet end u in the garden. ;)
