Vanity - Style and Period?

    Yes , Gentlemen ...there you have it !
    No lady, sitting in front of that , and those bulbous leg endings are just too low to the ground....as to be unsightly..

    Thank you all for the replies. So, a classical revival style sideboard that probably had casters like these that were cut off at some point.

    Yep, that is probably what happened.
    If there are holes in bottom of legs, just castors are missing, if no holes, part of leg/feet was cut off as well

    Agree with the others that this is a late classical style sideboard. Not so sure about it being 20th century though. Aren't those dovetails hand cut?

    There are no holes in the feet, which is why I didn't think there had been casters. I wasn't imagining them being like those in the last picture and then cut down. Yes, I thought the dovetails looked hand cut too.

    Sees no scribe marks on dovetails and if hand-cut, there should/would be

    Even in hand-cut dovetails made yesterday there is a scribe line
