This is such a fun thread, always interesting items here!
desperate that is one big hunk of glass!
nuff that is some fine looking jewellery you have - I love the brooch, 2nd row down on the right, with the beautiful blue stones.
    shiloh, love the ornaments.
I've had a good couple of weeks finding stuff. I picked this little painting up today, with the slate/viking ship. Was at a show this week and found a great pair of Sherman earrings, lava brooch in 18k, as well as the (maybe) crystal necklace and earrings I posted about earlier.

Cxgirl, I really like the painting of the church with the winding path leading up to it. I especially like the colors, the tree(s), the winding path, and the moon. To me it sends an almost Gauguin-y feel.

thanks yourturn! I like it too! The odd thing is that when you have it in hand the colours are barely there - I was quite surprised when I looked at the photos and the colours stand out. I started a thread about it.

    Hi Cxgirl,
That lava cameo is very nice but for some reason those "diamond and emerald" earrings are making me very very jealous.

Nice finds folks. Very nice jewels CX.

This small lot was $10. :D

The first was part of a small vintage "costume jewelry" lot (costume pieces not shown). At left is the sterling silver, and at right is a white gold, etched glass & diamond necklace/pendant and also a small white gold & diamond pendant.

The other item is just a vintage leather Steuben glass box. The young girl said if she finds the glass once housed within, she'll give us a call.

An interesting thing about the MG34, along with much other German war material, was that it was too well made. The British equivalent LMG cost half as much and worked as well. I have heard it fairly convincingly argued that the excellent quality of German uniforms and weapons ensured that production required more time and labour that cumulatively added up to defeat.

The high rate of fire, and more notably with the MG42 was good for attack,as soldiers were more likely to obey instructions to let the barrel cool down with pauses in firing. In a defensive situation such as the D Day landings, they fired away till the barrels overheated and the weapon jammed, at which point the MG position could be overrun.

No idea what such a dewat is worth, though. I am sure there are plenty of fans of it out there to buy.

Those open back crystal necklaces sell well, I think whatever metal or stones they are...Beautiful set!
I bought a little pink one recently and my 3 year old granddaughter nabbed it and was not wanting to give it back so....
Nuff of course I would love the jewelry but I better pass as it is getting so close to the holidays. I would probably like to roll around in it though LOL
I know there are shams out there but if you don't sell it here I would just take 12 good pictures and start it at a price you could live with
400 pieces worth who knows on some individually...
I have a few finds will post later, very few....
