That owl set is tea, not coffee - anything on the base? It looks familiar. Selangor sticks may be later, they still make them and very nice they are too. Your bamboo vase is, I'd say a bottle missing a cork stopper looking at that base.

There are a few red foil "Japan" stickers but no other marks. The bamboo vase is 12 inches high,5 wide. I think the vase is modern,I saw some for sale on Houss but in different colors.

just found 22 (more) pieces of Anchor Hocking unused and never washed , he said he bought it years ago at a charity event for $35 to help out his daughter , and wanted to get that out of them so i gave him $40 ,not a scratch on them anywhere. I (finally) have two truly "antique" books to enter here as today's "finds."

Orton's Lightning Calculator and Accountant's Assistant by Hoy D. Orton ("Entirely New Edition, with extensive modifications and improvements.) Philadelphia: Collins, Printer, 705 Jane Street. "Entered according to an Act of Congress, in the year 1871, by Hoy D. Orton, in the Office of the Librarian of Congress, at Washington." Hardcover. 194 numbered pages. Just two of the interesting subjects: "Rules for determining the weight of live cattle: For cattle of a girth of from 5 to 7 feet, allow 23 lbs. to the superficial foot." "To measure corn on the cob in cribs . . . ."

Fun Jottings (or, Laughs I Have Taken a Pen To) by N. Parker Willis, New York: Charles Scribner, 145 Nassau Street (1853). ""Entered according to an Act of Congress, in the year 1853 by Charles Scribner In the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York." Hardcover. 371 numbered pages (19 "jottings"/short stories).

I bought a whole crate of gooseberries. I'd show them, but they're mostly in my tum now.

    WHOA there, mateys!!!!!!!!!!

I may be sophomoric at times, but I was NOT alluding to junior form "scatological" humor in that post - I was going more for the hormone induced upper school reference to a bared tummy on an attractive lady...............;);)

even I have limits...............though they can be allusive at times.............

You won't me seeing mine; attractive isn't in it.(LOL) Unless lumps, bumps and scar tissue turn you on...

My find of the week will probably come from a sale on Thursday. It's the paid admission night for a big synagogue rummage sale. Sunday is bag day and you can bet I'll be heading back after church! My old favorite sale got axed this year, but this one's pretty good too. Brad would have a field day with the furniture. I'll be after other stuff.

20170709_222733.jpg 20170709_222722.jpg Found these interesting brooches. The flower one is very light weight and translucent when held up to the light. The other is clay, I think, because there are fingerprint marks on the back of it; the hat is a sea shell.
