I would think so all the ones I have seen that washed up showed some sign of sand and water wear. The cordage does not look like it has spent any time in the water. These were popular items for blowers to bring to craft shows in the PNW. I have a couple that are very decorative in a fish pond just some alga to clean off. I have had used ones where the water and sand had etched the area not protected by cordage.

I have a full old wire milk crate full of 3-4" light green ones, something like plate glass with lead in it.

As George said popular back in the 80's PNW a friend of mine is a glass blower and lived and worked in McKinleyville Ca. in the 80's made glass floats with Japanese character on the plug that translated: Made in USA by Ro Purser :joyful: Local fishermen bought and used them! I have heard some were found on the beaches after big storms, I'm pretty sure I have one packed away somewhere... :) these are also being made in China as decorative pieces as little as 5 years ago

They were selling these hangings at Christmas Tree Shop about ten years ago before the Belizikians sold it. Now it's owned by Bed, Bath & Beyond and it's a clone of their other stores.

A faint memory says that these showed up in decorator catalogs in this configuration in the 80s. I do not think it would be practical to have two of the floats bouncing around against each other.

    Hi,
When I was living in California in the 1960s I used to find a lot of Japanese floats that washed up on the beach. They certainly did not look like these though, they were heavier and looked, like they were "acid washed".

Some of these contemporary floats, some extraneous candle sticks, and a window 10' from the floor, over builtin bookcases..............

Wow. I need to be more creative with stuff. I just put candles in my candlesticks. A lot of the folks who follow the Golden Glow of Christmas Past on Facebook use them to hold fancy glass ornaments.

I have over 40 pair of candlesticks and probably 20 orphans................even within my 3,500 square feet, there are only so many places you can put candles without it beginning to look like a coven meeting........................
