Victorian spindle back childs chair

Discussion in 'Furniture' started by Martyn I F Price, Aug 13, 2020.

  1. Found today. A chair of child proportion with new upholstery. It has a plain spindle back. The legs have groove turning and pad feet . Numbers stamped in wood under seat rail 868 and F.B (probably maker). Any ideas as to probable date. I'm thinking 1880s or 1890s.

Measurements ? Sometimes what we think of as child sized was regular size to folks in those days.

  3. Yes. It's very small by comparison to any other Georgian or Victorian period chair I have

    Ht 29 in
    Seat ht 14 in
    Seat Width 14.5 in
    Seat depth 13.5 in

I'd put it at around 1910 or so.
