Austria Rhinestone Set Help with stuff on the earrings

    Hi,
    I picked up this set, marked Austria. Has lots of green on the back and some white material stuff on the earrings. I'm not sure what it is, maybe put on so the earring don't hurt when worn? How would I remove it?
    any information appreciated

    Hi,
    Gorgeous set!!!! Get out the ketsup for the greenies and I would try alcohol on a q-tip for the white stuff.

    thanks greg, I'll give the alcohol a try. Yes, I'm working on the greenies with ketchup now.

    You may want to try a soft toothbrush also on the earrings, lightly dipped in alcohol. Have a hair dryer handy when you do this so you can make sure the jewelry is completely dry. Moisture can destroy the foil backing on the rhinestones!
