Gold ring with Hallmark

This is a gold plated ring over copper I think. I can't find this hallmark, any ideas ?

Since there is a distinct solder line near the Maltese cross and the"plating" didn't burn off,I don't think the ring is copper.It could have been sized and the purity mark cut off,get it tested.

 

here's an acid test I just did with 10k gold acid on the stone.

 

Which acid is which? Sometimes really old gold-fill pieces will do goofy things when you scratch test them. The 10k will burn through and the 14k just sits, among other things. The stone doesn't look like a diamond to me, but it could be something else.

 

I used 10k acid test. I'll try a test with 14k acid.

 

Some old 12kgf pieces will hold up really well, so I'd have it professionally tested too just in case if you want to sell.

 

I did another acid test with 14k gold acid, the acid on scratch is the last one I did on same part of ring, so your right, might be 14k or higher.

In short, a 14k gold ring, no Maltese but another type of cross, possibly J. Solinger & Co mark.
So, write it on a piece of paper, and put ring and paper in a ziploc bag.
