If you bought it super cheaply then no. Anything over 45 or so, I would.

    Agreed!

Even with the old -- not described by the seller -- 4 inch hairline crack, it was a steal at $45. :D

'Nuff_Said, did you buy it from someone you have bought from previously on one occasion or several or many occasions? Sometimes that matters in how a seller would decide what he/she should do (mollify a good customer or say tough jelly beans).

Yep, and you know, when I buy something sight unseen, I always brace myself for the fact that it probably *will* have some flaw to it that wasn't described in the listing or whatever. And yes, that even goes for auction houses. There's nothing like holding it your hand so you can know for sure. Although, I often buy something *in person* and don't notice until later that there's a flaw, so it definitely happens.

I've never seen a bowl like that before either. It must weigh a ton.

No, first time buying for this seller. Even if I did buy it from a regular, I wouldn't file a SNAD.

The piece I purchased from that seller is a larger, better glazed version of the one I sold this guy: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-CHINESE...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I love buying these Asian wares and seeing that iridescent popping off of it similar to the one below...

    Hi,
A few years back I had a buyer return a vase which he said was broken. He would not take a photo and wanted to return the vase. I agreed but something made me nervous after all it was 100 bucks. I had her return it in care of the postmaster of my local PO. When I was notified it arrived, I asked the postmaster to watch while I opened it. It did not contain my "broken" vase but a perfect condition cheap clear florist vase not the green Depression glass vase I sent. He contacted ebay and the buyer was suspended.

I've been posting some of the silver and gold coming out of those costume jewelry lots we purchased, but none of the actual costume jewelry itself. Below is just a fraction of the "bling" pieces pulled. I'm guessing there has to be at least 400 pieces in total I personally pulled and dumped most of the junk. I know there's approx 200 brooches and a mix of everything else. If any of you are interested in the entire lot, I'm open to offers.

Don't anyone faint. I actually found a few treasures at an estate sale this a.m.
I am so happy to finally have something to share here. All three are books -- two newish, one from 1909.

1989 small hardcover -- Springs of Irish Wisdom: Shaw Wilde Swift Yeats (compiled by Martin Loughney) Infinity Books Ireland (Dublin)

1993 small hardcover -- Springs of Irish Wit: Shaw Wilde Swift Goldsmith (compiled by Martin Loughney) Infinity Books Ireland (Dublin)

1909 hardcover -- Some Minor Chords by Alice Johnson Jones
It is a smallish book (119 pp.) showing "Press of Eaton & Mains New York" as the printer/publisher.

Some other finds from my daughter today too. Butterfly handle butter dish, anyone know the maker? Also the figurines are bisque with porcelain bases marked with a blue N and 5 pt crown, trying to look like Capo? I still like them :) I think the serrated knife with the fish/sardine fork is for bread ?

Thank you for the link desperate, I figured the butter dish was new but I love the color. I think the Sheffield fish and knife are new too but I do like them. :cat:
