Hi. Any additional info on these chairs? Are they worth recaning? I would have no idea how to do that I would assume would have to be done by a shop. I've read some info on Larkin soap chairs from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Would this date back that far? The label says larkin factory 7 on it. Not sure if that helps identify time period. Oak?.... Those are pressed wood kitchen chairs from that era. Most of them aren't worth a pile; they're out of style at the moment. Worth recaning if you want to use them; I'm not sure otherwise. @verybrad would know better, but the Larkin name does help.

Recaning here is about a dollar a hole. I'd put a new seat in them if you want to keep them.

Bobert, there's a collection of Larkin items shown online, including these 2 chair pictures:

The collection can be seen here:

At the bottom of that page, there's a link for someone to contact about the products. I imagine he'd be able to help to date your chairs and maybe provide more info about them.

Interesting. I've always seen Larkin desks - I have one - but never knew there were Larkin chairs.

Turn of the century press backs. Can't tell if that is real caning or the press-in type. With the age of these, would think real caning.

I purchased a set of 8 larkin #2 canebottom pressback dining room chairs 30 years ago. Does anyone know of an auctioneer or gallery that might be interested in them? Thanks.

Really not worth any kind of serious exposure. Sell them locally on craigslist or facebook marketplace.

FYI the Larkin Building in Buffalo was one of FL Wright's greatest buildings, and one of the saddest demolitions in architectural history. Just sayin'.
