Can anyone identify the maker of this biscuit barrel? It's supposed to be "Victorian" but I'm not so sure. Size 18cm (7") high, 14.5cm (5.7") round and 0.82Kg.
Marks on bottom "2076", "19","33". No marks on lid.

BTW I did check my only Majolica book by Katz-Marks and it wasn't in there.

The book probably doesn't say who made it, or it would surely have been part of the auction description. Just speculating.

Well it is beginning to look like the biscuit barrel from my "Victorian" auction lot may actually be Victorian after all. I might forgive the auction house from slipping in a couple of mid century Wedgwood plates and a slightly dodgy six piece Meriden cruet set and a strange 7" engraved glass orb. I'll see if I can get a pic of the top shortly but I don't recall any marks.

Savvy*Spyglass*Treasures Fancy Endeavours. That's my user ID on eBay now.

It has the look of majolica from Austria to me.

Just discovered the one that "Annpan" found on eBoo has the same pattern number 2076 as mine does. On the bottom there is also a circle with a cross in it. Could that be a manufacturers mark?? Can anyone ID the cross in a circle mark?
