Ours generally do not require forklifts to move or warehouses to store, although a long-arm quilting machine (if I had one) would fall into that category. They're sewing machines that take up an entire small room and cost about the same as a small car.

You'll only find those in the house of someone who makes money from quilting, at least as a sideline.

Hoardatorium late today, the eve of D-Day. The bare concrete floor you see will be almost completely covered with pallets and crates we'll unload as soon as the truck arrives. Hopefully I'll remember to get an "after" photo!

Poor photo after most stuff got inside; you can't see it very well so maybe I'll post some decent pix of the stuff where we staged it as we got it off the truck. Two bulky/heavy items gave us trouble unloading, one made the rear forklift wheels leave the ground, my first time having that happen. Not a good feeling, the forklift weighs almost 5 tons so I wasn't expecting that.

You crack me up. I am never ever going to call myself a hoarder again! Actually, my house looks very nice because everything is in china cabinets or display cases. It's the NUMBER of china cabinets and display cases that may be a tad overdone. :angelic:

See the pallet of dark blue storage containers in those photos? The hundreds of items in those big wooden crates are now being sorted into those "stackable" 5-gallon hard plastic blue bins. Neat bins I've never used before-stacked with exterior ribs aligned, they nest very tightly for shipping. Take the top one and reverse the direction it points and it stands on the shoulders of the one below so it can't slip down and bother the stuff under it. Very ingenious!

Remember when you bought a loaf of bread before the little plastic split-tab closure was invented to keep the clear plastic bread bag from unwinding at the end? There was a flat paper strip with a wire down the middle that was twisted to keep the bag end from unwinding. Those I recall were always green. Well I'll now the proud owner of about 200 lbs of that paper-strip-wire in red, yellow, green, black, and blue. I'm looking to make money with that somehow as long as no one manufactures it anymore.

Some things are still wrapped that way, some fancier with shiny gold or silver strip.
Of course there are the green strips we pull off a holder to tie clear bags from rolls when we bag our own produce and such bulk items at the grocer. :)

Not long ago I bought a box of 1,000 twist ties is assorted colours..........and they were not very dear if i remember correctly. And I did buy the paper coated ones, over the plastic coated ones, because there was a significant (to me) price difference.
